Rationale of the Programme
Geologists are useful scientists who make great contributions in studying some of society’s most important problems, such as energy, water, mineral resources, the environment; climate change and natural hazards like landslides, volcanoes, earthquakes, and floods. Due to an increasing population, there is growing demand for supply of raw materials (minerals, energy and water) for economies around the globe.
These resources are getting scarce year by year and the situation is becoming a major environmental, economic, societal and even political issue for countries. Knowledge on raw materials and their management, including economics, assessment of reserves, expert site studies and process management is important.
The aim is to contribute to the security of these supplies.
GeTRI offers three programs; BSc Geology, Post Graduate Diploma in Geothermal Energy Technology, and MSc Geothermal Energy Technology.
