Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Post Graduate Diploma
    • A holder of a Post Graduate Diploma in Geothermal Energy Technology from DeKUT or an equivalent qualification recognized by the University Senate as an adequate prerequisite for the Master’s program. These students will join the program in the second year of study.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
    • A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree with at least Second Class Honours, upper division, or an equivalent qualification in related fields such as Geosciences, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Geospatial Information, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics recognized by the University Senate.
    • A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (in any field) with at least Second Class Honours, upper division, from a recognized university in Engineering disciplines or an equivalent qualification in related fields like Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Chemical Engineering, or any related Engineering degree recognized by the university senate.
    • A holder of a Bachelor of Science or an Engineering degree with Second Class Honours, lower division, in the disciplines outlined above and with at least two years of work experience.
    • A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree with at least Second Class Honours, upper division, or an equivalent qualification in related fields such as Geosciences, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Geospatial Information, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics recognized by the University Senate.
